WOMEN STRENGTH’S GAMES

 I wOMen’s strength games sono la prima ed unica manifestazione al mondo che unisce in un percorso formativo ed informativo gli sport di forza con la cultura, l’arte e l’impegno sociale. Un appuntamento che si rinnova ogni anno come azione di contrasto al sessismo, alla misoginia ed alle discriminazioni di genere: tre mali che sono anche alla base della violenza di genere. Gran parte del potenziale delle donne rimane incompiuto a causa delle ampie disuguaglianze tra donne e uomini in tutta l’UE. Se vogliamo creare un’Europa più forte, equa e unita, dobbiamo eliminare queste disuguaglianze. Infine: non sarà soltanto un evento dove affermate atlete agoniste mostrano il livello della propria preparazione, ma anche un’occasione per tante donne di avvicinarsi -per la prima volta e senza pregiudizi- a sport “proibiti”.

I wOMen’s strength games si pongono l’obiettivo di migliorare la percezione dei ruoli della donna nella società contemporanea. Avviano dunque un’azione attiva e concreta, per riavvicinare tante donne allo sport. La manifestazione è caratterizzata da gare di rilevanza nazionale ed internazionale, insieme ad eco-giochi (attività ludico sportive aperti a tutte le donne), all’impegno sociale per la cura dell’ambiente, per le pari opportunità ed in favore della prevenzione.

L’iniziativa sarà, per le atlete, le famiglie e gli appassionati che interverranno, un momento di grande condivisione ed una precisa mission: credere nello sport, anche come attivo strumento contro gli stereotipi di genere.

The wOMen’s strength games are the first and only event in the world that combines strength sports with culture, art and social commitment in an educational and informative path. An event that is renewed every year as an action to combat sexism, misogyny and gender discrimination: three evils that are also at the basis of gender violence. Much of women’s potential remains unfulfilled due to large inequalities between women and men across the EU. If we want to create a stronger, fairer and more united Europe, we must eliminate these inequalities. Finally: it will not only be an event where established competitive athletes show the level of their preparation, but also an opportunity for many women to approach “forbidden” sports – for the first time and without prejudice.The wOMen’s strength games aim to improve the perception of women’s roles in contemporary society. They are therefore starting an active and concrete action to bring many women closer to sport. The event is characterized by competitions of national and international importance, together with eco-games (playful sports activities open to all women), social commitment to care for the environment, for equal opportunities and in favor of prevention.For the athletes, families and enthusiasts who attend, the initiative will be a moment of great sharing and a precise mission: to believe in sport, also as an active tool against gender stereotypes.
